Neil has more than 40 years of experience as a cinematographer and photographer, contributing to a wide range of feature films, television productions and natural history documentaries. He has shot in many different formats, including IMAX, 35 mm, 16 mm and High-Definition video.
With a degree in Marine Zoology from the University of British Columbia, he carried out underwater studies for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans before becoming the Editor of DIVER Magazine in Vancouver. He now freelances as a cinematographer, scientific consultant and writer specializing in marine subjects. For several decades his specialty has been underwater cinematography, where he has had the rare opportunity to film some of the oceans’ most iconic creatures, including whales, sharks and manta rays. He has contributed natural history articles to numerous international magazines and has credits on television documentaries and feature films.
Neil has also provided consulting services and biological assessments for marine surveys with regard to foreshore developments and habitat mitigation projects.
He is excited to be a part of the 3 Points team and is looking forward to engaging in the creative opportunities of aerial videography.
